Tura for Mac · comes with Tura Pro

Hand over the assignment. Get back the finished work.

On your Mac, Tura does what a browser can’t. Give it the brief and the data: it plans the work part by part, runs the analysis on your Mac, and hands back the report, the workbook and the code. It turns any page of your book into a narrated video, too. And everything you use in Tura on the web is here.

Here’s Homework 2. Answer every part the way the brief numbers them, and give me the report as a PDF.

I’ve read the brief and both workbooks. The index prices start in January 2015 and two ETFs begin late, so I’ll use their common window. You approved the plan; here’s where it stands.

From brief to finished work, on your Mac.

Coursework is a brief, a dataset or two, and a deadline. Tura reads all of it, agrees a plan with you, does the work with real code, and checks it against the brief before it hands it back.

Hand it over

The brief, the data, the starter code.

Choose Do an assignment and add what you were given: the brief as a PDF, the spreadsheets, a zip of starter code. It all goes into a folder of its own on your Mac, kept exactly as you handed it over.

Agree the plan

A plan first, in your brief’s own numbering.

Tura reads the whole brief and every sheet before it touches anything. Then it proposes one step for each part, with the method and what it will produce, and says what it is assuming wherever the brief leaves a choice open. Nothing runs until you approve. Want it done differently? Add context, and it plans again.

Do the work

Real analysis, run on your Mac.

The work is done in Python that Tura writes and runs on your Mac, with pandas, SciPy, statsmodels and matplotlib. Every number in the answer comes out of code that ran; none is estimated. When the brief leans on your course, Tura searches your own books and follows their notation.

  • python work/weights.pyseven weightings, 108 monthly rebalances
  • python work/risk_table.pymean, volatility, Sharpe, max drawdown
  • python work/var.pyhistorical and parametric, 95% and 99%
  • python work/backtest.pybreaches counted, Kupiec test

Get it back

Checked against the brief, then handed back.

Before it finishes, Tura opens each file again and checks that every part of the brief has its answer. You get the report as a PDF, or in Word if the brief asks for one, a workbook of results, the charts, and the scripts, so you can rerun any step and see exactly how each answer was reached.

Explainer videos

Any page of your book, as a video.

Stuck on a page? Ask for an explainer video. Tura writes the lesson from that page, then draws it the way a teacher builds a board, one line at a time, with the narration in step and captions underneath. A minute or so, made on your Mac, and there whenever you open the topic again.

  • Drawn a step at a time from the page itself
  • Narrated and captioned; the voice is made on your Mac
  • Kept with the topic’s notes, and on the book’s shelf
  • A page already filmed opens at once, at no cost

And the rest

Everything Tura does, and two things more.

Questions

What students ask first.

Is Tura for Mac included in Tura Pro? +

Yes. There is nothing extra to pay: download it from this page once you have Tura Pro, and sign in with the same account. It works for as long as your Pro plan is active.

I’m on the free plan. Can I try it? +

The Mac app comes with Tura Pro. Everything else in Tura stays free on the web, on three books. If you take Pro and it is not for you, you get a full refund within 14 days of your first payment, no questions asked.

What kind of assignments can it do? +

It is built for coursework that is worked out with data and written up: finance, economics, statistics, data analysis and other quantitative courses. In other words, a brief, a spreadsheet or two, sometimes starter code, and a report to hand in. The first assignment sets up its Python tools, which takes about two minutes, once.

What happens with a long assignment? +

Tura works through the plan in runs of about thirteen minutes. If a run ends before the plan does, it tells you how many steps are done; say continue and it picks up where it stopped. You can watch the plan’s checklist fill in as it goes.

Can I hand in what it makes? +

That depends on your course, so read its rules on AI help. Many allow it if you say you used it; some do not. Either way, everything Tura did is in the folder: the plan, the scripts and the source of every number, so you can follow each step, rerun it, and explain it in your own words.

Does it use my Pro credits? +

The thinking does: the plan, the code it writes, the lesson behind a video. That comes out of the same monthly allowance as the tutor. Running the code and making a video’s narration happen on your Mac, and cost nothing.

Where do my files go? +

The brief, the data and everything Tura makes stay in the assignment’s folder on your Mac, and the code runs only there. As on the web, the text the model needs to read is sent to the AI model doing the thinking.

Which Macs does it run on? +

Macs with Apple silicon (M1 or later) on macOS 12 or later. Tura keeps itself up to date.

Is there a Windows version? +

Not yet. On Windows, use Tura on the web; everything except assignments and explainer videos is there.

Your next assignment, handed back finished.

Tura for Mac comes with Tura Pro, with everything else Tura does.
